Neural Knots. When we face hard things, our nervous systems respond to the issue itself, plus our emotions about the issue, plus our judgments about having the issue. That’s a lot of nervous system involvement! These reactions wire into our subconscious and affect our bodies, behavior, relationships, and stress levels. Also, the subconscious mind has no sense of time, so experiences and beliefs from childhood can run in the background and impact us now.
How EFT helps. EFT unravels the knots. Tapping on specific acupuncture points while focusing on what’s troubling us unhooks our nervous system response from the issue so we can deal with it or let it go. EFT also addresses the ‘deal or let go’ piece by changing subconscious drivers that cause resistance, like childhood programming, limiting beliefs, or key memories. The techniques can address upsetting memories, difficult circumstances, recurring thoughts/feelings, physical issues and health, memory issues, pain, depression, cravings, traumatization, or feelings of anxiety. It can even work when you’re not sure what’s wrong.
EFT & Me. I lost my house in a wildfire in 2020 and wasn’t home to grab anything. Luckily, my dog was with me, but other than her and what was in my car and office, I lost everything. Practitioner-led Clinical EFT helped me recover from the effects of PTSD better than EMDR or talk therapy. I became an EFT practitioner so I could help others move through challenges and get unstuck with this quick and effective technique. It feels empowering to navigate life without substances, medications, or years of outside assistance – relief and rewiring are literally at my fingertips.
“It’s woo-woo.” Something I hear from people who’ve never tried EFT but have googled it or seen it in the media. I call the tapping they’re referring to “EFT lite” because it’s used for relaxation and doesn’t show the breadth or depth of the tool. In private sessions, I use Evidence Based Clinical EFT which is more involved, backed by research, and can gently clear traumatization and take clients to deep places. Its effectiveness often feels mysterious (reinforcing its woo reputation), but it’s not magic – it’s science.

“…part of getting to know yourself is to unknow yourself – to let go of the limiting stories you’ve told yourself about who you are so you aren’t trapped by them, so you can live your life and not the story you’ve been telling yourself about your life.”

You are responsible for you. This is your journey. As an accredited Clinical EFT practitioner, certified coach, and licensed massage therapist, I make every effort to provide you with safe, effective, and exemplary service. I am not a licensed counselor or psychologist, nor do I have a medical degree. If you already work with a mental or physical healthcare team, take medication, or use other treatments, EFT can complement your current course of treatment. It often changes your body chemistry enough that your dosage or frequency of medication may need to adjust. In this case, you must be in contact with your health or mental health practitioner about your use of EFT.
